predictive validity

— The extent to which a measure is able to predict future outcomes or behaviours.

Full explanation:

Predictive validity explores the relationship between a score on one measure (predictor) with a score on another measure taken at a later date. For example, a school entrance exam and final grades. Predictive validity is a form of criterion validity (how well the measure accurately measures the outcome it was designed to measure).
